Mozzarella cheese, grated or sqs. 1 lb. Italian sausage, brown and remove fat 1 clove garlic, minced 1 sm. onion, chopped 1 tsp. basil 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. oregano 1 bay leaf 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, crushed 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste 1 tbsp. sugar Mix together - referred to as meat sauce. 2 eggs 3 c. Ricotta cheese 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese 2 tbsp. parsley flakes 1 tsp. salt Mix together - referred to as Ricotta filling. Layer 1/2 noodles in 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread 1/2 Ricotta filling; add 1/2 Mozzarella cheese, then 1/2 meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
