UPSIDE DOWN CHERRY COBBLER 
1/2 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 (#303) can sour cherries

Cream together butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add milk, mixing thoroughly. Spread batter in greased 8x8 inch pan. Drain cherries and reserve juice. Arrange cherries evenly over batter. Pour on cherry juice. Sprinkle with other 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 375 degrees about 45 minutes. 6 servings.
