VEAL BIRDS 
1 sm. onion, minced
2 tbsp. butter, melted
3 c. soft bread crumbs
2 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. salt
Few grains pepper
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
2 lb. veal steak, cut in very thin slices
Seasoned flour
2 tbsp. fat or salad oil
1 bay leaf
1 onion, sliced
1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. (12 oz.) any beer

Combine minced onion, melted butter, crumbs, water, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning to make stuffing; mix well; spread on veal slices. Roll up each slice, fasten with toothpicks. Roll in seasoned flour; brown in hot fat or salad oil. Add bay leaf and sliced onion. Combine tomato sauce and beer; pour over all. Cover; simmer 1 hour or until tender. Thicken gravy, if desired. Yield: 6 servings.
