BIRD NEST COOKIES | |
1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1 egg yolk 1 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg white, slightly beaten 1 c. chopped fine pecans Mix butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla together. Add flour. Roll into balls about the size of a walnut. Roll balls in slightly beaten egg white and then roll in pecans. Place on cookie sheet. Make indention in center of each ball with finger. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven and push center down again. Return to oven until lightly browned; 3 to 4 minutes. Cool. May be filled with colored powdered sugar, frosted, or any jelly or jam. |
