WAMPUS BREAD 
2 c. self-rising cornmeal
2 c. self-rising flour
1 lg. onion, minced
2 med. potatoes, diced
2 or 3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. black pepper
3 lg. eggs
1 (32 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
Vegetable oil for frying

In large bowl mix dry ingredients and potatoes. Add beaten eggs and tomatoes. Dough should be wet enough to fall easily from a large spoon. Drop into hot vegetable oil (400 degrees), filling the fryer until surface is covered. Turn bread once. Drain; serve hot. Perfect accompaniment to fish.
