GOLDEN BATTER ONION BREAD 
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1 beaten egg
1 (3 1/2 oz. can French fried onion rings
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. warm water
4 1/2 c. sifted flour

Scald milk, stir in butter, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to mixture. Stir in egg, 3 cups flour and beat until very smooth. Then stir in rest of flour making stiff batter. Raise until double in well greased bowl. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir in onion rings. Turn batter into 2 well greased 1 1/2 quart round casseroles. Bake at once about 40 minutes. When done remove from dishes and cool on wire racks.
