2 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. pepper 3 tbsp. shortening 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes 1 c. onion, sliced 3/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 lb. boneless round steak 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 c. bell pepper strips Combine salt, pepper and flour. Sprinkle half mixture on one side meat. Pound in with edge of plate. Turn over and repeat. Melt shortening in Dutch oven or large baking dish. Add meat and brown meat well on both sides over medium heat. Add tomatoes and onion, Worcestershire sauce and peppers. Cover and bake in preheated 325 degree oven 2 hours or until tender. |
