1 1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1/4 c. cocoa
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1/3 c. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts (optional)

Bring first 3 ingredients to boil. Shut off gas. Add next 6 ingredients, one at a time, and mix. Pour into greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees.

Icing: Bring to boil first 3 ingredients. Shut off gas. Add rest of ingredients. Mix until smooth. Pour over baked cake. Cool before serving.
