DUTCH APPLE CAKE | |
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. butter 1 egg yolk 2 tbsp. brandy or milk Apples & dried walnuts CINNAMON TOPPING: 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Blend cinnamon topping together; set aside. Sift together dry ingredients; blend in butter. Add egg yolk and brandy. Press dough with fingers into a 9" layer cake pan. Cover with sliced apples; sprinkle with currants. Cover with cinnamon topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
