BIRTHDAY CAKE FROSTING 
2 egg whites (at room temperature)
Dash of salt

Beat until slightly foamy.

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar

Boil above mixture for 1 minute. Add this mixture slowly to egg whites. Beat until stiff. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 or 3 tablespoons confectioners sugar. Spread on cooled cake.
