MILLION DOLLAR STEAK WITH
VEGETABLES
 
2 lbs. top round steak, cut into 1" long strips & 1/2" thick
1 1/2 tsp. meat tenderizer
1 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. brandy
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. coarse black pepper
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/3 c. light soy sauce
1/3 c. water
5 cloves garlic, crushed
4 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 lg. green pepper, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
2 med. yellow squash, sliced
1 med. zucchini squash, sliced
3 tbsp. white wine Worcestershire sauce

Place steak in a deep dish. Combine meat tenderizer, baking powder and brandy and add to the steak. Marinate for 4 hours in the refrigerator, turning meat occasionally. Combine cornstarch, black pepper, sugar, soy sauce, water and garlic and add to meat. Let marinate for 2 hours.

Heat skillet with 2 tablespoons oil; add meat and cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet to platter and set aside.

Place 2 tablespoons oil in skillet, heat, add vegetables and cook 2 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce and cook an additional 2 minutes. Spoon vegetables beside Million Dollar Steak on serving plate.

Makes 6 servings.
