DATE-NUT BARS 
1/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 2/3 c. Bisquick baking mix
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Mix butter, sugar, and egg. Add Bisquick. Mix well. Fold in dates and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees in 9"x12" greased pan for 20 minutes until light brown. When cool, cut into squares. Sprinkle tops with confectioners' sugar. Yield: 2 dozen.
