MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 c. cooked macaroni
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. grated onion
3 tbsp. melted butter

Pour hot milk over soft bread crumbs; add cheese; cover and let stand until the cheese melts. Add macaroni, beaten egg yolks, salt, onion and butter. Mix.

Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into mixture. Pour into a greased casserole. Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve at once. Serve plain or with a mushroom sauce. Serves 6.
