1 c. uncooked macaroni, in 1" pieces 2 qts. boiling water 3 3/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded 1 c. soft bread crumbs 1 tbsp. minced green pepper 1 tbsp. minced parsley 2 tbsp. minced onion 1 3/4 c. grated cheddar cheese 1/8 tsp. pepper 3 eggs, well beaten Cook macaroni in the boiling water to which the salt has been added, until macaroni is tender. Then drain, rinse with boiling water. Meanwhile, add 3/4 teaspoon salt to milk, then pour over remaining ingredients, except eggs. Stir until combined. Then stir in macaroni and eggs. Pour into greased shallow baking pan about 10'x6"x2". Bake in moderate oven of 325 degrees for 35 minutes or until firm. Serve, cut in squares, with or without mushroom sauce. Serves 6 to 8. |
