FRIED PIES 
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. salt

Mix in order given. Roll very thin and let stand 30 minutes. Cut circles using a saucer as a guide. Place a tablespoon of apples or other fruit in each circle. Moisten edges with milk and seal with a fork, pressing firmly. Deep fry until brown.
