125 YEAR OLD BLACK WALNUT POUND
CAKE
 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 c. black walnuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Put flour and milk a little at a time. Add baking powder, vanilla and rum flavoring. Mix. Add nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
