SAUERKRAUT SOUP 
1-2 ham hocks or chopped ham
1 can sauerkraut
1 pt. canned tomatoes
2 (3-4 oz.) cans mushrooms
1/2-2/3 c. pearl barley

Bring all the ingredients to boil. Turn down heat and simmer about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You can add onions, bacon and salad macaroni or tiny alphabets. All fresh ingredients can be used.
