BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES EVER 
1 lb. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
6 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Nuts, if desired

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix above ingredients. For each cookie, roll about 1/4 cup of dough into good-sized rock-like shape. (Makes a large cookie.) Place the balls of dough on ungreased cookie sheet. DO NOT FLATTEN THE DOUGH.

Bake until very slightly brown -- check after 6-8 minutes as oven time varies. This will leave them looking like they are not quite done, but after they cool they will be nice and soft.
