DILLY CASSEROLE BREAD | |
1 pkg. dry yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water 1 c. cottage cheese, lukewarm 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. instant minced onion 2 tsp. dill seed 1/4 tsp. baking soda 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 1 egg, unbeaten Soften yeast in the water. In large mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, sugar, onion, dill seed, soda, butter, salt, egg and the softened yeast. Beat until smooth. Add flour gradually, beating after each addition. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk (about 1 hour). Stir down dough and turn into well-greased 8 inch round casserole. Let rise again until light (30 to 40 minutes). Bake 30 to 40 minutes in 350 degree oven. Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with coarse salt. Yield 1 round loaf. Serves 6 to 8. |
