SAUCY SIRLOIN SURPRISE | |
1 1/2 lbs. boneless sirloin steak, 1" thick 2 tbsp. shortening 1 can Campbell's golden mushroom soup 3/4 c. water 2 tbsp. cooking sherry 1 lg. clove garlic (or garlic salt) 1 med. bay leaf 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen whole green beans Trim fat from meat and cut into 1" cubes. In skillet brown meat in shortening; pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients (except beans). Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf and chill overnight. Next day, in skillet, combine meat mixture and green beans. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally. Makes about 4 1/2 cups. |
