BISCUITS MADE WITH YEAST 
5 c. plain flour, sifted
3/4 c. shortening
3 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
2 c. buttermilk

Cream sugar and shortening. Add flour and mix until very fine. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 5 minutes. Add yeast and water and buttermilk all at once. Mix until dough forms. Knead dough lightly about 20 times. Lightly grease a 10 x 3 inch pan. Allow to rise 1 1/2 hours. Roll out and form into biscuits. Place on pan. Bake 10-15 minutes at 400 degrees or until golden brown on top.
