WELLESLEY FUDGE CAKE 
4 squares Bakers unsweetened chocolate (Bakers)
1/2 c. water
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt chocolate in water over low heat, stir until smooth. Add 1/2 cup sugar, cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Cool. Mix flour, soda and salt. Cream butter. Gradually beat in remaining 1 1/4 cups sugar and continue to boil until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Alternately add flour mix with milk, beating after each. Add until smooth. Blend in vanilla and chocolate mix. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9" pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Spread frosting over top and sides. Garnish with nuts if desired.
