OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. melted butter
2 tbsp. Stein syrup
1/4 c. milk
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
2 c. raisins
2 c. pecans (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together in large mixing bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop tablespoon size portions and bake on ungreased cookie sheet for about 10 minutes, or until soft and lightly brown.
