OATMEAL - RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
2 c. quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1 c. raisins

Combine flour, soda, salt and spices, set aside. Cream sugar and shortening well, beat in egg and milk. Add flour mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
