1 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. soft shortening or butter
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. anise
1 1/2 c. prepared mincemeat
1 c. nuts, chopped
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg

Mix sugars, shortening and eggs with mixer. Add flavorings and mix well. Add dry ingredients, mincemeat and nuts. Use a #30 dipper and put on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 F. oven until brown.
