1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. granulated brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture. Blend well. Add chocolate chips.

Drop from teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes.

Makes 3 dozen.
