JEWEL'S SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. oil
1 c. butter
1 c. regular sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 eggs

Mix the oil and butter together. Then add the sugars. Next, mix in the eggs and vanilla. Mix the dry ingredients together and add slowly to the first mixture. Mix well. Chill several hours or overnight. Roll a teaspoon of the batter in sugar and flatten with a fork. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 6 dozen. NOTE: It is important to keep the cookies small. Also, the cookies keep well, either baked or unbaked. Serves 6 dozen cookies.
