EASY CHOCOLATE CHIPPERS 
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats, quick or 2 3/4 c. old-fashioned, uncooked
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine oats, flour, salt and soda. In large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg, water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Stir in chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 13 to 15 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, remove to wire cooling rack. Makes about 3 dozen.
