EC'S PIZZA PASTA | |
1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground "bulk" sausage 1 (16 oz.) box rotini pasta (I use Barilla) 2 (15 oz. ea.) cans pizza sauce (Don Pepino or your favorite brand) salt and pepper, to taste Italian seasoning, to taste onion and garlic powder, to taste seasoned salt, to taste (Lawry's) 1 small bag pepperoni slices (Hormel) shredded Mozzarella cheese (enough to cover) grated Parmesan cheese (enough to cover) 4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter Brown hamburger and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder. Brown sausage in a separate pan. Drain fat from both hamburger and sausage. Boil noodles to desired softness and drain. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a bowl, mix pizza sauce, hamburger, and sausage. You can also add chopped onions and sliced mushrooms if you like. Season with seasoned salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder (I use "garlic and onion medley"), and Italian seasoning (you can find at any grocery store, it's just called "Italian seasoning"). Once the noodles are cooked and drained, return to pan. Add 1/2 stick of butter and desired amount of Parmesan cheese (I recommend coating generously), mix well. In a glass baking dish, spread Parmesan noodles across the bottom. Spread pizza sauce with meat on top of noodles, making sure it covers noodles to the edges. Layer on pepperoni slices so that you can't see through them. Cover top of dish with shredded Mozzarella cheese so that you can't see though the cheese. Sprinkle oregano and Italian seasoning on top. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy! Submitted by: Erin Colleen |
