BEEF 'N ONION STEW | |
1 1/2 lbs. beef cubes 2 tbsp. shortening 1 can Campbell's Beef Broth 1/4 tsp. thyme, crushed 1 c. celery, cut in 1" pieces 8 sm. white onions In heavy pan, brown beef in shortening; pour off fat. Add broth and thyme. Cover; simmer 1 hour. Add celery and onions. Cover; cook 45 minutes longer or until tender. Gradually blend 1/4 cup water into 2 tablespoons flour; slowly add to sauce. Cook; stir until thickened. 6 servings. |
