BEEF GOULASH 
2 med. onions, chopped
1/4 c. butter (butter)
2 lbs. beef round or rump, cut into 2" cubes
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
1/4 c. catsup or 8 oz. can tomato sauce
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. paprika or chili powder
1 tsp. powdered marjoram (oregano)
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
Water

Saute onion in butter until yellow. Add meat, but do not brown. Add rest of ingredients, using enough water so meat is half covered. Cover and simmer about 2 hours.

Makes 4 to 6 servings. I put a little more water to this after it has cooked about 1 3/4 hours so it has a little more sauce.
