1 tbsp. yeast 1 tbsp. honey 2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1/4 c. yogurt 1 egg, beaten 1 c. hot water 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour Poppy seeds Dissolve yeast in water. Combine with honey, salt, vegetable oil, yogurt and beaten egg. Sift in 3 cups flour. Add enough flour so dough can be handled. Knead with 1 hand for 5 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour. Cut in 12 equal pieces. Shape in ovals. Rise 10 minutes on greased cookie sheet. Bake 4 1/2 to 8 minutes at 450 degrees. If tops are pale, brown under broiler a few seconds. |
