APPLES AND CABBAGE 
3 slices bacon, cooked
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 Granny Smith apples, chopped (or other green ones)
2 heads, cored green cabbage, chopped
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp. whole caraway seeds
1/2 c. white wine

Cook onion and bacon together until translucent. Add other ingredients; combine, cover, and cook down (25 to 30 minutes). Terrific with lamb or pork chops!
