BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/3 c. milk
1 c. mashed bananas
4 c. quick cooking rolled oats
2 c. chopped pecans

Sift together flour, soda, and cinnamon. Put shortening in a large bowl and gradually mix in sugar. Beat in eggs. Stir in 1/3 of flour mixture, then stir in half of banana and milk mixture. Stir in half of the rest of flour mixture, then rest of milk mixture. Add rest of flour mixture. Mix in uncooked rolled oats. Add pecans (optional). Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake near center of oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until light brown. Remove from pan at once.
