125 YEAR OLD POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs, whole
3 c. plain flour
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. cream or half and half, milk can be used

Cream butter and Crisco. Add sugar; beat well until fluffy. Add whole eggs, one at a time; beat well after each egg. Add vanilla and beat well. Mix 1/4 cup flour with nuts. Add flour mixed with baking powder alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour. Fold in floured nuts. Put in tube pan that has been greased and floured. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325 degrees. Do not open oven door the first hour. Ice with Waldorf Icing, which follows.
