1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. shredded apples
1 c. sifted flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Add apples. Stir in dry ingredients and nuts. Bake in greased 8 inch square pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream on top.
