FINGER LICKEN SPARERIBS | |
6 lb. country-style spareribs 1/2 c. cooking sherry 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 lemon, sliced thin 1/2 c. finely chopped onion 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. celery seed 1/4 c. vinegar 1/4 c. Worcestershire 1 c. ketchup 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 c. water Brown ribs, add sherry and 1/2 cup water and lemon. Cook covered for 1 hour. In another pan, combine all sauce ingredients and cook for 1 hour. Let spareribs cool in liquid; skim off fat. Remove ribs and drain. Lay ribs in large baking pan, cover with sauce and bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. This recipe takes a while to prepare but is well worth it. Can make ahead and freeze or reheat on grill or microwave. |
