CHOCOLATE PIE 
9" baked pie shell, cooled
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa, heaping
2 c. water
3 eggs, separated
1/4 c. butter
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

1. Mix sugar, flour and cocoa.

2. Add enough water to make paste.

3. Beat in egg yolks well.

4. Heat remaining water with butter and salt until butter is melted.

5. Add paste mixture to water and cook until thick. Stir often.

6. Remove from heat. Add vanilla.

7. Cool slightly and pour into baked pie shell.
