DATE NUT LOAF 
3 tbsp. white Karo syrup
3 c. sugar
1 c. milk (evaporated), 5 oz. can + water
1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried dates
2 c. nuts

Dissolve sugar and syrup in milk and cook to soft boil stage. Add chopped dates. Cook until mixture thickens to a firm ball stage when tested in water. Remove from heat and beat until cool and creamy. Add nuts. Place mixture in a long loaf shape on wet cloth. Shape into 2 inch long roll, chill until firm. Cut into sliced and store in air tight container.
