DATE NUT LOAF 
2 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) box dates, chopped
1 c. cream or evaporated milk
1 c. nuts, chopped

Cook sugar and cream until it boils. Add dates. Cook until it forms a soft ball in water. Cool. Beat as long as possible. Add nuts. Pour onto a wet cloth. Make a long roll. Let harden and slice. Dip each piece in powdered sugar, if desired.
