SOFT OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. raisins

Cover with water. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

Cream together: 1 c. shortening

Add: 1 tsp. vanilla 7 tbsp. raisin liquid 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour 2 c. oatmeal 1/2 tsp. salt Rest of raisins

Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
