HAM AND BROCCOLI STRATA | |
1 bag frozen broccoli cuts, thawed and drained well (3 1/2 c.) 12 oz. sliced boiled ham, cut in 2 x 1/2 inch strips (2 c.) 12 oz. coarsely shredded Swiss cheese (3 c.) 1 loaf French bread, ends removed 6 lg. eggs 3 tbsp. Dijon mustard 2 c. milk 3 tbsp. instant minced onion 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce 1/2 tsp. paprika Cut French bread into 16 slices, each about 1 1/4 inch thick. Grease lightly a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Toss broccoli, ham and cheese together in large bowl until well mixed. Spoon 1/2 mixture evenly over bottom of casserole dish. Arrange bread, slices slightly overlapping in 2 long rows on top of broccoli mixture. Spoon remaining broccoli mixture over bread. Whisk 1 egg with mustard until well blended. Whisk in remaining eggs, milk, onion, pepper sauce until well blended. Pour evenly over broccoli mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered 35-45 minutes until top is lightly browned and wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Makes 8 servings. |
