FAY'S MERINGUE FOR PIES 
3 egg whites
6 tbsp. sugar
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites with salt until stiff. Gradually beat in sugar, sprinkling a little at a time over the surface of egg white. Add vanilla. Pile lightly on top of the pie (thoroughly cover). Seal the edge.

Bake at 325°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
