DATE PUDDING 
1/2 c. hot water
1 pkg. (14 oz.) date bar mix
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. ground mace
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

SAUCE:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. half & half
2 tbsp. butter

Cook all sauce ingredients in saaucepan over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Haet oven to 325 degrees. Mix water and date filling from date bar mix. Stir in crumbly mix, eggs, nuts, raisins, mace, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into well greased 4 cup mold or casserole. Cover with aluminum foil. Place mold on rack in Dutch oven to 1/2 depth of mold. Cover and bake 2 hours. Uncover pudding and let stand at room temperature 5 minutes. Unmold on serving plate. Serve warm with Amber Sauce.
