DATE BALLS 
1 egg, beaten
1 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. crisp rice cereal
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. flaked coconut

Combine egg, sugar and dates. Cook slowly over low heat until dates are melted. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, rice cereal and pecans. Mix well. Form into balls and roll in coconut. Yield: 4 dozen.
