LONDON BROIL 
1 lb. beef flank steak
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 med. onion, sliced
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces, drained

Cut both sides of the steak into diamond patterns 1/8 inch deep. Cook onions, mushrooms and salt in butter until tender. Mix remaining ingredients and brush half mixture on the steak. Broil steak in oven a couple of inches from heat until brown. Turn steak and brush with remaining mixture and broil until brown. Cut steak across grain at slant angle into thin slices. 4 servings.
