BARBECUED SHORT RIBS | |
3 lb. ribs 1 clove garlic 3 tbsp. shortening 3 med. onions 1 c. ketchup 1/2 c. vinegar 1 c. beef stock or 1 beef bouillon cube in water 1/8 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. curry powder 1 tbsp. brown sugar Heat shortening in heavy skillet. Add garlic and ribs; brown on both sides. Transfer meat and drippings to large casserole or Dutch oven. Add onions and remaining ingredients. Cover very tightly and bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours, or until very tender. Place on large platter and pour sauce over top. |
