ONION - MUSHROOM CHUCK ROAST 
1 (3 1/2 lb.) boneless chuck roast
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking dish with a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to wrap around entire roast. Place roast on foil. Sprinkle onion soup mix on top of roast and spoon cream of mushroom soup on top. Wrap the foil tightly around roast to prevent steam from escaping. Bake for 2 1/2 hours. This dish makes its own gravy.

This is a recipe I made a few years back. I remember it being good. However, it does not take into account the quality of today's meat (from Kroger). Meat had a nice flavor, but was too tough to eat after 2 1/2 hours. May I suggest a longer cooking time and possibly a lower heat.
