SOUR CREAM - SCALLOPED TOMATOES | |
1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes, drained 1 c. onions, chopped 1/2 c. cheese cracker crumbs 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sour cream 3 slices bread, cubed & toasted 1 tbsp. butter, melted Break tomatoes into pieces with a spoon. Layer in greased 1 1/2 quart casserole with 1/2 cup onion, cracker crumbs, sugar, monosodium glutamate and salt. Cover with remaining onion; top with sour cream. Sprinkle bread crumbs over cream; brush with butter. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until thoroughly hot. Yield: 6 servings. |
