CHILE RELLENO BAKE | |
1/2 lb. each pork and lean ground beef (or 1 lb. ground beef) 1 lg. onions, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 2 (4 oz.) cans whole chilies, drained and seeded (or 1 7-oz. can) 2 c. sharp cheese, shredded 4 eggs 1/4 c. flour 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. salt 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce Brown meat; add onion and garlic and cook. Line 8 inch square baking pan with half the chiles. Top with half the cheese. layer on all the meat mixture. Cover with remaining chiles. Beat eggs and flour together until smooth; add milk, salt, and Tabasco. Pour over meat and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean when inserted in center. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. |
